The five people on the mountain are decent, but only a couple I halfway felt I knew a little by the end. The girls father at the end was more interesting because you could feel his intensity. There were 1 or 2 minor continuity errors but these were cleared up within the next few minutes. Only at the last few minutes does it redeem itself, but I was left feeling that it could have had a better second-half plot. The level of violence was just right for a film like this not being glamorised or pornographied. Had they trimmed there and developed the characters more it would have been better. History of Western Man: The Macedonian Phalanx led by Alexander the Great conquered Asia, Caesar conquered Gaul leading his troops into the savage realm of the Barbarians with the fiercest reputation. It's the kind of place that reminds you that the wild really still is WILD. Although a few of the actors are slightly wooden this is quickly and cleverly counter acted/covered up by the good ones and fast passed action. I find the premise realistic, the action compelling and the heroic deeds of the lead characters create a strong force, so strong I had to finish it, though i gradually remembered the ending before it came... therefore a successful movie with elements that matter.

Didn't really care what happened to the characters. I love scenery and sets, but they don't make the movie, the actors and story do.
Having a good review score we decided to go see it. AKA: The Long Weekend, The Grave at Angel's Peak. This is a decent thriller, but not overly thrilling. The police that try to help are barely developed so once again they are okay. It's an interesting little film that moves along quick enough and keeps you watching. Philip French.
