I am back in 2 weeks! Everything is newly renovated and modern. Big mistake!
Located downtown, within walking distance to good restaurants, close to SU, and Upstate Medical.
The hotel has some charm but overall seems to lack the level of service and amenities expected. Worth the stay.
Popular attractions Carrier Dome and Destiny USA are located nearby.
500) and its very adequate space had a king bed, flat screen TV, comfy sitting chair, desk, a breakfast nook with dishes, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink....and then an adequate bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower. The ratings must be outdated. Close to everything. The full breakfast had a great selection. Check-in and checkout was quick and flawless. The hotel was a great old style NY heritage building. Normally it would not have been a big deal however we were all meeting to go over to the venue for the wedding! Highly recommend due to absolute pleasant stay. From the lobby to our room, it was full of charm. When I showed her my confirmation email, she realized that I had accidentally reserved the room for the prior evening! Highly recommended for a visit to Syracuse. But the check-in experience was less than pleasant with a young woman who did not appear to be trained to make incoming guests feel welcome.
My daughter and I arrived at the Parkview after a downpour in New York City that left us soaked through as we ran from our hotel to Penn Station ( no empty cabs, no umbrella). Oh, did I mention free parking? New rooms. I told the lady at reception and she said no Irish channels I said isn't that strange she said it was no other comment.,,,,, Spacious room, spotlessly clean. Friendly expeditious staff. All in all, not a bad stay, but the place needs serious attention to details. The free wifi worked fine but changed the time on my Kindle to Mountain Daylight Time. The hotel gave us half off the room rate, but now I am covered in bug bites and am terrified my luggage and car are infested. Room was a bit pricey ($150 including tax) but one can get it at a cheaper price if there are no events perhaps. Hotel is easy to find. So 10/10. Location was easy to find, near the University, 2 night stay and we were upgraded, breakfast included as well as parking. Nice “quaint” lobby, bar/breakfast area but rooms need SERIOUS renovation. We were quite shocked to see that breakfast was served on paper cups, paper plates and with plastic silverware. It turned out that the room was good and the restroom looks cute and has a country style theme. Got a great nights sleep as it was very quiet. One piece fit so poorly that it made one side of the bed difficult to access. The lobby has numerous chair and couch areas to relax in. The only downside was the air conditioner in our room.
Our room HVAC was literally a window unit, which began barking in the middle of the night and we had to turn it off. The alcohol selection was rather limited as well, but we both found something that we liked to drink. and right behind the hotel. I was swayed by the great reviews. Clean, updated, and chic design in a historic building. Room location was extremely noisy, literally right behind the front desk.
It was very clean , the beds were comfy and the bathroom spotless!
My only complaint was that the mattress and sheets felt worn and could be replaced, but overall great stay and very clean. Either during the remodel or from long ago, storm windows were added and while they certainly added the "tightness" of the room, on one side of the building in our room, the windows were filthy. Cold breakfast was also available in cozy breakfast area which doubles as the bar area in the evenings.
The friendliness and smiling faces, politeness, while also being efficient and professional, each member of the staff was outstanding. Staff was very friendly. I was traveling 10 days from NY to Toronto thru the Niagara Falls area and this hotel was one of the best during the entire traveling time. The front desk personnels are very courteous and friendly. The breakfast was just plain nasty, old pastries and very limited choices.Front Desk staff was not customer friendly at all. It is our third year in the area and have usually opted for a Comfort Inn closer to to the fair however Parkview was a winning choice downtown. I really enjoyed my stay. awesome bed and pillows. You hear everything, including the delivery truck back in at 4am.
