On the charming handwriting menu, The Library states that they aim to nurture a "Philosophy" of sorts - to maintain a comfortable, romantic environment in every inch of their restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. It's quite expensive. Very good restaurant.

Went elsewhereVisiting Rome as a college student from New York! Every single thing we ordered was great, and service was super. Thank you On the charming handwriting menu, The Library states that they aim to nurture a "Philosophy" of sorts - to maintain a comfortable, romantic environment in every inch of their restaurant.

Enjoy!dear guest, sorry about the delay on answering, we have been closed for a period and just now in march opened again. Another live reviewed restaurant that no longer exists. My partner booked it as a surprise. We came on time,a place was closed!!! This little restaurant, tucked down an alley, is a wonderful respite from the sometimes jarring hustle and bustle of Rome.On a trip to Italy 4 years ago, myself and Fiona celebrated our engagement with a dinner at this restaurant.

!After eating at a slew of great restaurants including the famed La Pergola, this was still my wife's favorite place in Rome. A beautiful soundtrack of Sarah Vaughn was playing on the speakers in quiet tones. The experience we had here could not have been more magical. My husband and I shared one portion which was more than enough for us. Which is probably why this placed charged like one. But the sommelier will politely ask your price range, so don't worry about that!Great small restaurant in a great little Roman alley-way near where there a lof of things going on. The entire interior is lit with only candles, lending an almost mystical atmosphere. (NOT suitable for children IMO.) Food is great, it's hard to find bad food in Rome, but it's the ambience that makes all the difference. On my girlfriend's birthday!! The decor is very sophisticated and the ambience is warm. If you're looking for quintessential European charm then you must try The Library. The staff were really personable and friendly. We returned to Italy this year and were due to be in Roma on the same night, so booked a table.Very beautiful restaurant. The service is great and the gnocchi is absolutely amazing! It's a tiny little place on a quiet street and provides an intimate, comfortable setting. You should reserve a table as there are only 7 tables for couples. Go to Est on same street. I had an exotic slow cooked wild boar that was 30 Euros and tasted somewhat underseasoned and pedestrian. You have to pay a bit more than avrige, but it is soooo worth it!!! While not egregiously so, most dishes were at least 21 Euros and up. There is only one non English speaking waiter (Achmed) - he also help the cook out in the kitchen. The chef's recommendation to start was eggplant flan, which was fantastic. There are only 6 or 8 tables in a small space tucked down an alley just off Corso Vittorio Emmanuele II.
Exposed brick walls, empty wine bottles doubling as candlestick holders, the iron circular staircase and other touches make it feel a bit as if you've stepped into someone's living room in the 15th century. No longer open. Another live reviewed restaurant that no longer exists. I may be convinced as well, as it truly delivers on what it promises. Perfect for a romantic couple dinner or for a pair of close friends or family, The Library seats only a few parties, so be sure to make reservations ahead of time. He took his time to explain the history of the Chianti we were drinking and the orgins of grappa. Rome Zoom in to see updated info.off Corso Vittorio Emanuele II TURN right at number 199 We were there in January during truffle season and they put truffles on everything for us! When we got there it was really quiet and we were the only ones there but to us that was better. What a neat concept to create such a lovely atmosphere - dining by candlelight! Like other reviewers have noted, this restaurant is the epitome of romance. Also the bathroom messed up while I was here but not really a big deal.My wife and I found this place on Yelp during a recent trip to Rome and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is five stars and for that alone you might HAVE to go here if you're on a romantic trip that brought you to Rome, especially when coupled with what I felt was the kind of attentive service that was hard to find in Europe, and normally seen only in the finest dining establishments. This quaint restaurant has an environment that is perfect for a date or other special occasion.
